Default Celebrity Loop Suggestion

Many sites are having problems with people posing as celebrities/well known people.

example: Several posed as Alyssa on my space ( we know the official one )
There is a keith olbermann posing on twitter ( he said he never was on twitter ) etc., etc

Suggestion: Since you are plugged into the celebrity arena or would have a way of reaching the people

Offer a official list of confirmed sites ( confirmed with the celebrity )
Increase buisness, maybe they can pay a fee for gettting the correct information out.

example:
Alyssa Milano
web site: http://www.alyssa.com/
my space: http://www.myspace.com/alyssamilano
Message Boards: http://boards.celebrityloop.com/forumdisplay.php?f=110
MLB Blog: http://alyssa.mlblogs.com/

2nd:

Main reason I'm here is for the Alyssa information but I also really like Vanessa Marcil, you can't find any information on her.. no official site. Please contact her rep and see if she would join Celebrity Loop.

Thanks for all your hard work.

IF you take a look at the top bar, there is an image which has a card, when you rollover it says out stars.. if you click on it, it will take you to a page which has the official site for each celebrity.

Your suggestions are duly noted. However, there are many issues involved in addressing the problem of fake websites, MySpace sites, Facebook sites, etc., across the breadth of the Internet. In order to effectively stop this illegal activity (and yes, it is illegal to impersonate someone without their permission) we would have to file lawsuits against the host site and the perpetrator. It simply is not financially feasible to take the larger issue on at every occurrence. We close down as many fake sites as we can, when we become aware of them. Further, we only represent and act on behalf of those celebrities we officially represent. We do not address issues involving others not a part of our network.

Finally, there was an active group of MySpace members seeking out fake sites and doing so well at notifying MySpace of their dereliction of responsibility, MySpace not only kicked this watchdog group off of their site but threatened them with legal action if they ever logged back on again. Very difficult to address these issues when the supporting site welcomes illegal activity and kicks off those highlighting and demanding action to resolve the problems. At the end of the day, it is all about ethics and morals. Most sites willing to overlook illegal activity clearly have little, if any, of either characteristic.

Lastly, when people continue to support organizations like MySpace, Facebook, et.al., by creating accounts and actively using these sites, a tacit approval of illicit activity is assumed by these organizations. By keeping these sites open and active we, as users, support both the good and the bad aspects of each. As long as there is sufficient activity in support of these sites, little to nothing will be done about the real problems that exist. In fact, illegal impersonation is just the tip of the iceberg. Change will come only when something so horrific happens we can no longer ignore the foundation upon which these bad elements are built and can no longer, in good conscience, continue to support organizations fostering these bad elements.

Yes, I do... and I believe you will find I make frequent use of my access to their staff in the complaints area.

she kicked the losers and there bad as* kids out. She got some sense and seen that MJ's kids need to be raised right and not abused by those hell raisers. Its on TMZ Jermaine has to finally pay child support and he can't go to court saying he is caring for his children cause they live @ his mommas house.....................Living with his trophy wife and not taking care of his kids

I will miss Ghost Whisperer. Kudos to CBS for airing such a great show. I hope ABC picks it up.
